Religious Festivals Celebrated at Ambaji and Funfairs
Festivals / Funfair Description

1. Kartik Sud
(from Ekam to Pancham )
Annakut is offered to Mataji on the New Year Day. During this days from Ekam to Pancham pilgrims come to Temple in large number approximately around 10 to 12 Lakhs. It is tradition to begin the new year with the blessings of Matiji. During this time the Temple is decorated with colorful lightings and various flowers.

2. Posh Sud Poonam This day is celebrated as the day of appearance of Mataji. On this day the there is large procession with Rathyatra. Annakut of Chhappan Bhog ( 56 ) is offered on this day . During this days pilgrims come to Temple in large number approximately around 2 ½ to 3 Lakhs During this time the Temple is decorated with colorful lightings and various flowers.

3. Chaitra Navratri Sangh ( Group of Pilgrims ) coming from Mehsana  worship Mataji for nine ( 9 ) days during this time .Mataji is worshiped by the ardent devotes during these days .

4. Shravan Vad Amas Pilgrims come from Nadiad, Anand and Kheda district from Teras(13th day of month of shravan) to Amasin large numbers approximately 2 Lakhs. The Sangh from Nadiad on Chaudas Day offer Annakut and perform Yagna.

5. Bhadrapad Sud
Poonam Mela
This is the biggest Mela (funfair) of Gujarat. In this Mela pilgrims come in large number approximately more than twenty ( 20 ) Lakhs. The remarkable point is that pilgrims come in large number on foot from all over India. During Bhadrapad Sud, Chaudas and Poonam it is considered pious to hoist the flag for Mataji. Pilgrims, Sunghs invite Mataji to their villages during Navratri by offering Nejo. The other meaning of Bhadrapad Sud Poonam is blessings of Mataji to Earth and human beings. And it is the festival to offer thanksgiving in return to Mataji.

6. Aswin Sud
Navratri
People celebrate Navratri by performing Garba – Rass in Chacherchawk during nine ( 9 ) days. On Adham mahayagna (biggest Yagna) is perfomed by Danta Darbar which is significance of eighth day of Navratri in Ambaji Temple. During these nine days of Navratri people come in large number approximately 10 to 12 Lakhs.

In Pavitra Yatradham Ambaji festivals like Janmashtami, Dashera, Rath Yatra of Ashadha Sud Bij(2nd day of the month of Ashadh) are celebrated by religious association of Ambaji. The Shree Arasuri Ambaji Mata Devesthan Trust, Ambaji supports whole heartedly to religious association in all manner for the religious cause.

During every Poonam of the year people in large number approximately 1.5 to 2 Lakhs come to Pavitra Yatradham Ambaji.

Shree Arasuri Ambaji Mata Devesthan Trust, Ambaji, organizes in Shravan month Mahamela at Kailash Tekari Mahadev Mandir which is also property of the Trust. On the day of Shitala Satam Mela is organized at Shitalamata Temple.
